Mardean Neuman

Indigenous Wellness Counsellor/Facilitator

Mardean Neuman (she/her) describes herself as a B.C. person, born and raised on Treaty 8 Territory in Fort Nelson. She later relocated to the Coast Salish Territories, where she now lives, learns, and plays. Since 2006, Mardean has been honoured to support Urban Indigenous individuals, families, and communities in this region through her work in wellness and healing.

With deep roots in the Red Road and a strong foundation in Indigenous Education, Mardean brings a wealth of lived experience to her work. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work and an Advanced Counselling Diploma from the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology (NVIT) and its education partner, Thompson Rivers University (TRU). Her approach is grounded in compassion, respect, and cultural humility—meeting people where they are and walking alongside them on their journey toward wellness and self-determined goals.

Mardean is passionate about lifelong learning and continues to build her skills through various cultural teachings and counselling workshops. Her practice is a blend of heart, knowledge, and commitment to healing.
